SUMMER
I have been so slack with my posts the last few months so I thought since the end of Summer is only a few days away (not looking forward to this!) I would show you what I've been up to (enjoy my iPhone snaps). It's been an awesome few months and I've so enjoyed the hot weather! I absolutely love summer and living in Rotorua is so much fun! We're surrounded by 13 or more lakes, it takes 45 minutes to an hour to get to the Mount, Papamoa beach, and Ohope beach.Kaiate Falls in Welcome Bay, Tauranga are gorgeous! The walk down was beautiful but the walk back up was a MASSIVE killer. I am so unfit! These photos are taken halfway down the falls and at the bottom there was a big pool that the waterfall flowed into. It was really pretty but not warm enough for me to swim so we went to the beach afterwards. The Redwoods in Rotorua are gorgeous! I've been determined to walk more this year and having the Redwoods so close was great, I convinced my sister to come on some walks with me.Lewis Road Creamery Whittakers Chocolate Milk went viral when it was realsed at the end of last year. Trying to buy some was a mission and a half though! You could only purchase one bottle per customer, you had to line up for over an hour before New World opened and there were security guards at the chiller section! So when Nicky came back to NZ for the summer and we found them at New World in Havelock North we had to buy them. They're super delicious so we even bought the giant bottles!!! (This is Nicky, my mum, my sister Caroline, and me, we take great photos haha).Te Mata peak in Hawkes Bay was a little trek from the bottom but oh so worth it when we got to the top! It was such a beautiful view!!Being in Hawkes Bay I though going to the beach was like a 5 minute drive, NOT 45 minutes! I mean come on we can drive all the way to The Mount from Rotorua and that's another city. But it was such a hot day and we had climbed to the top of Te Mata Peak so off we went to Waimaramara beach. Unfortunately for us the wind was cold and the sun disappeared behind the clouds, so we played petanque on the beach and then had fish and chips for dinner, so yummy! On our last day in Hawkes Bay we went for a walk to the Chinese gardens. On the way we found this cool as sign! can you see what it says???... Ok I'll tell you, it says KA PIE (PAI) BRO. Such an awesome play one words! On our way back from the Chinese Garden we stopped in at Rush Munro for some yummy ice cream! I can't remember the flavours I had but boy was it delicious! If you go the Hastings you should so go there!During the weekends I went to the beach way more than last summer! This is from one weekend when we went over to the Mount after church. It was so nice! The waves weren't crashing on us heaps and there were all these Jelly Fish eggs floating around which was quite interesting. They're clear and kinda stick in a line. Very cool! Now you can't live in Rotorua and not enjoy the lakes! Tarawera is on of my favourites! When Nicky and Ashleigh came to visit before Nicky flew back to Melbourne that's we're we went with our picnic.Me, My sister Caroline, My sister Elysse and Alessia at CLOUD FESTIVAL!!!Cloud Festival was AMAZING! If you didn't go this year you should definitely go next year! We could get free Coke's during the day which I absolutely loved because I love my coke! The performers were awesome! Hillsong Young and Free, Rapture Ruckus and Newsboys ended the day off so well. There was so much dancing that my legs hurt for days afterwards! But it was so worth it!!!On Friday my mum and I moved my sister Caroline to Hamilton as she started her degree in a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) today! She's in a flat with 8 people and they only had a tiny freezer below their fridge and Caroline bought so many groceries (because that's what you do when mums paying) that she took up half the freezer space! So off we went to The Warehouse and bought a bar freezer, unfortunately for me I had to squeeze into the backseat with it while we took it back to her house! Oh the joys haha.So that's a little recap of my Summer, it has been absolutely amazing! What have you guys been up to? Hope you have all had an awesome Summer too xx
