Julian’s uncle was their celebrant. I’m 100% biased that Darryl is amazing because he was also mine and Blake’s celebrant when we got married. During the ceremony, Darryl was lucky enough to be able to give these two their first wedding present. A Yeti Thermos, two Yeti travel mugs, as well as a cheeseboard, cheese knife, and Darryl’s wife made them a loaf of bread shaped as a heart. These two love travelling and going on adventures so they were the perfect git for them. I mean, they booked me while they were travelling in Costa Rica.
As these two did lots of travelling, their table names were photos of the two of them in different parts of the world. The white table cloths with the hessian down the middle then baby’s breath in jars with hessian and lace around them really complemented the wood of the Macrocarpa on the walls of the barn beautifully. The subtle green in the ribbon around the place names and in the baby’s breath flowers, really tied it into the gorgeous forest green that the bridesmaids were wearing.
During their speeches, Julian handed out flowers to four different people. To his mum and Shannon’s mum which was so sweet, it made me teary. As well as two of their friends. One friend had come to New Zealand in March for their wedding and stayed over here for the 8 months until their actual wedding day (thanks to Covid). Another friend had flown over from the UK and quarantined just so that she could attend. How amazing is that.
I had so much fun with these two (see the groomsmen with their glasses upside down) and absolutely loved their wedding day and being able to photograph it for them. Julian and Shannon thank you so much for having us along! x
