Cam and Alice celebrated their marriage there in February this year and it was perfect. We had a gorgeous overcast day which meant we could have lots of photos with the view. Lake Tarawera and Mount Tarawera in the background was amazing and no squinty eyes!! Photographer"s delight!
Alice grew up with a family holiday home on the shores of Lake Tarawera. She was really looking forward to showing Cam’s family and their friends how amazing Tarawera is. As The Black Barn at Lake Tarawera is 2 minutes up the road it was the perfect wedding venue for them.
Alice’s mum and dad both walked her down the aisle and Cam’s mother had their rings. They had a couple of friends read different readings that left their guests with big smiles on their faces.
I overheard some of their guests exclaim how Alice just has the best eye for details. She had styled the barn so beautifully, it was simple but gorgeous. The white tablecloths were a gorgeous backdrop for the olive leaf runners and wedding stationery. Her flowers by Bloom Art were beautiful, I love a good bouquet. Her perfume was called Dahlia and she had Dahlia’s in her bouquet, not sure who else noticed that but I did.
We had to alter the timeline a bit which interrupted the speeches to get some sunset photos. Will, maybe more dusk photos, but the light was gorgeous and the hint of soft pink in the sky was beautiful. This is my favourite part of the day! As Cam and Alice still had to do their speeches, they chose to do them on the deck under the festoon lights.
Cam and Alice thank you so much for having us along to capture your special day xx
